About the Journal

  • The mktDESCUBRE journal is published semiannually, in June and December.
  • mktDESCUBRE covers thematic areas related to scientific review in the following fields: marketing management, educational social management, financial-accounting management, business management, transportation management, educational technology management, and artistic and cultural management, with the aim of generating immediate changes that contribute to the growth and development of society.
    To broaden communication possibilities and reach a wider academic community, mktDESCUBREaccepts and publishes articles in Spanish and English.

Ethical Code

mktDESCUBRE is a digital medium for the dissemination of original and review research papers. Its editorial practices are based on the ethical code of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These ethical guidelines apply to authors, reviewers, editors, director, technical staff, and design and programming personnel.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are committed to fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Responsibility: Authors assume full responsibility for the content of their original and review manuscripts. Research papers must include updated scientific backgrounds with societal impact in applied sciences such as marketing management, educational management, financial management, business management, educational technology, and artistic and cultural management.
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must follow the current APA citation style when referencing other research works, ensuring originality in most of the manuscript. All submissions are subject to plagiarism detection software (URKUND).
  • Statistical Data: Authors are responsible for the accuracy, reliability, and ethical handling of statistical data used to test hypotheses.
  • Results and Conclusions: Only results derived from declared methodologies should be presented, ensuring that findings reflect a defined reality. Authors must disclose the institutions, agencies, or projects that supported the research.
  • Multiple Submissions: Authors must attach a signed statement of originality and copyright transfer to mktdescubre@espoch.edu.ec. Submitting the same results to multiple journals is not allowed.
  • References: References must be updated (preferably from the last five years) and limited to those cited in the manuscript. Authors must comply with the number of references required by the editorial policy for review articles.
  • Authorship: Only individuals who made significant scientific and intellectual contributions should be listed as authors. Institutional affiliations must be clearly stated, for example:

  • Corrections in Reviewed Articles: Authors must comply with the deadlines established by mktDESCUBRE for submitting revisions requested by internal and external reviewers.
  • Errors in Published Articles: If significant errors are identified in a published article, authors must immediately inform the editorial team and provide the necessary information to issue corrections in the published version.

If mktDESCUBRE suspects misconduct in publication or research, the following cases will be investigated:

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to comply with the following:

  • Review Process: Internal and external reviewers must provide critical, constructive, honest, and unbiased evaluations using the official evaluation form and comments (Microsoft Word format), in accordance with the editorial policy.
  • Deadlines: Reviews must be completed within 45 days. If unable to meet this requirement or if the manuscript does not align with the reviewer’s expertise, immediate notification must be sent to mktdescubre@espoch.edu.ec.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts must not be shared with or disclosed to third parties.
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Reviewers must notify the editors if substantial parts of the manuscript have been published elsewhere or are under review by another journal.
  • References: Reviewers must verify that references are updated (preferably within the last five years) and meet the number of sources required by the editorial policy.

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors are committed to the following:

  • Publication Decisions: Manuscripts will be selected based on scientific merit, reviewers’ assessments, and compliance with requested corrections.
  • Integrity: Articles that fail to meet the journal’s editorial policy or complete the peer review process will not be published. No favoritism will be given to authors or manuscripts.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain strict confidentiality of reviewers’ identities and peer review reports. Only authors will have access to reviewer feedback.
  • Endogamy: To avoid conflicts of interest, the Director and Editor cannot publish in the journal. Editorial Board members may submit papers but will be excluded from editorial decision-making in the corresponding issue.
  • Misuse of Information: Editors must not use unpublished data from submitted manuscripts for their own research purposes.
  • Timeliness: Editors must ensure adherence to timelines: peer review (55 days), authors’ corrections (15 days), and publication deadlines. Articles achieving at least 70/100 points after review will be published in June or December.

Technical Team Responsibilities

The technical team, including design and programming personnel, must comply with editorial deadlines and responsibilities established by the Director and Editor.

mktDESCUBRE adheres to the ethical standards of COPE to prevent conflicts of interest and promote transparent knowledge dissemination.

Open Access Policy

mktDESCUBRE follows an immediate open access policy, meaning that all published articles are freely available in full text, without restrictions or embargo periods.

Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link, and use published content for academic and non-commercial purposes, provided that proper credit is given to the authors.

The journal operates under the license Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), ensuring free circulation of scientific knowledge while promoting ethical, responsible, and respectful use of authors’ rights.

Publication Charges

mktDESCUBRE does not impose any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing, or publication. All editorial processes are completely free of charge, ensuring unrestricted participation by the academic community.

Digital Preservation Policy

The Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo guarantees digital preservation of academic and scientific output through the institutional repository DSpace-ESPOCH, which stores, maximizes visibility, and ensures long-term preservation of documents produced as a result of research, teaching, and outreach activities.

Additionally, mktDESCUBRE implements digital preservation through LOCKSS and CLOCKSS. All files are stored in PDF and EPUB formats, both individually (per article) and as complete journal issues.

Target Audience

The journal is intended for students, faculty, researchers from public and private universities, business professionals, and public officials seeking continuous knowledge updating for better decision-making.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are selected according to their expertise in the manuscript’s subject area. The review process takes approximately two months, ensuring quality, rigor, and relevance of published research.
